The Tempest Arms Coleby
About This Spot
Walking into The Tempest Arms Coleby feels like stepping into a welcoming embrace rooted deep in community and genuine charm. Nestled on High Street, this spot carries the relaxed ease of a classic village pub while radiating fresh energy and thoughtful renewal. The space invites you to linger — whether you’re settling in beside one of the warm log fires during the quieter months, or finding your way out onto the terrace where views stretch invitingly across rolling countryside.
The mood here balances a comforting familiarity with lively conversation and easy laughter, carried by the friendly hum of staff genuinely glad to see you. There’s a casual rhythm to the service that lets you feel at home without ever rushing the moment. It’s the kind of place where locals gather for a weekend breakfast or a midweek pint, and visitors find themselves welcomed like old friends.
Food at The Tempest Arms feels thoughtfully crafted rather than overly polished — dishes that speak to both tradition and a touch of modern flair. Whether it’s the inviting warmth of a full breakfast to start your day, the satisfying heartiness of steak and chips, or the delicate balance in vegetarian choices, each plate reflects an honesty and care that's noticeable from the first bite. Paired with a well-chosen pint, a crisp cider, or something a bit different like a carefully poured Corona, dinners here embrace the simple joy of sharing food and company.
Throughout the year, the pub’s atmosphere adapts beautifully: cozy and intimate in winter with flickering firelight, and a relaxed, airy gathering spot when summer draws the crowd to the terrace for sunset drinks and soft live music. Evenings often invite moments of connection, whether through casual chatter or music that feels perfectly in tune with the setting.
What really shapes the character of The Tempest Arms is its people. From the attentive team who know the regulars by name to the steady stream of new faces discovering this welcoming haven, the pub lives as a place where genuine, human moments quietly shine. It’s no surprise that longtime visitors have watched it evolve into a livelier, fresher space — one that still holds onto its heart and history.
For anyone meandering along the Viking Way or seeking a pause in the heart of Lincolnshire’s village life, The Tempest Arms Coleby offers not just meals or drinks, but a subtle invitation to rest, share, and savor a place where local warmth goes a long way.

Having been coming here for years but it's so much better since it's been taken over. Redecorated and got rid of the boring RAF memorabilia, looks clean and fresh now. Young friendly staff and the food is lovely. Husband had 'the best' bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich and my beef bourgignon was delicious. All for a sensible price.

Came here with some friends for a little Christmas dinner get together and it was wonderful! Gorgeous pub, lovely staff, AMAZING food beautifully presented. I had the turkey Christmas dinner and Christmas pudding - but it was great there were also other options included in the Christmas menu. My friend had the venison burger which looked delicious - and I had serious dessert envy for her roulade (although my Christmas pud was excellent too). Thank you for a lovely relaxed and festive evening of top notch food and good vibes. The playlist was great too!

The best terrace with a view that stretches for miles. Friendly staff and excellent food. A warm welcome with tasty, home made food to match. We went to the tapas evening with live acoustic entertainment it was great! In the summer the outside terrace is a perfect spot to enjoy a jug of Pimm’s and watch the sunset. In winter the pub is cosy and has 2 log fires. We enjoy a walk along the Viking way to the pub which is very dog friendly.

Ever since the current team took over the place has gone from strength to strength. We went in christmas eve for a family meal and the place was heaving. Food arrived quickly and was absolutely stunning. Some of the nicest food we've had in a long time! The kids menu is excellent which is a big plus for us. Will definitely be eating here again.

Good ole Country pub with a good Sunday roast lunch with a modern set dining rooms. Good friendly service from the staff. Because as most of UK at present are having a problem with wasps, you really had to sit inside. Outside was available, but you had to put up with the wasps which was unfortunate.

The perfect Pub ! Warm welcome , very clean great ale and the food was home made and delicious. Good value and dogs are welcome in the pub part. Separate Reastaurant Area but we were very happy and comfy in the pub part. Brilliant . PS Ideal place for a good scenic walk even in winter on the Viking Way and a bus every 30 mins to bring you back if you prefer a linear walk or get tired.
